Imagine we'd like to take definite integral with interval [a, b] where
a and
b are symbolic values. And let's assume we're trying to do this in Maxima. Is there anything on taking this integral by definition? I.e. we split the interval into subintervals [a, a + (b-a)/100, ...., b], then calculate integral estimation by summing 0.5(f(a + (b-a)/100) - f(a))(b - a)/100 + ... and then taking limit of this sum. Or it will be quite complicated or even impossible?
